Apple Macbook Pro – Letscom USB C Hub – 2016, 2017 and newer

Back in November 2016, Apple decided to change all ports on the Macbook Pro to USB C. The latest MacBook Pro machine support the enhanced new USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Thunderbolt 3 protocols for blazing fast wired connectivity and high resolution displays.

A downside coming from the previous generation, is that you literally need dongles for everything. You can’t even connect your iPhone to the Macbook without the use of a dongle.

The standard Apple dongle did not meet my needs, as I needed more ports, an SD card reader for my photography, and an Ethernet port for when I need to wire in for work.

I looked through quite a few products and found one that I like and have been using for a few months:

Letscom USB C Hub

  • Ethernet Adapter
  • 4K HDMI Output
  • Type C Power Delivery
  • SD Card Ready
  • Micro SD Card Reader
  • 3 USB Ports
